Indian-Style Diet (Pitta, Part I)

Indian DietAyurveda is the Indian traditional health and healing system that has been practiced since thousands of years ago. Ayurveda is a healing system that understands, that the body of each person is unique and needs special treatment. Ayurveda distinguishes the main force of life (body-mind-soul) into three types or dosha: namely Vata (air), Kapha (water), and Pitta (fire). Knowing dosha is the most important step to help you choose the best foods according to your therapy.

Pitta. Average body shape, easy to become fat, heart-shaped face, oily skin and blushing. Hair is soft, straight, manageable, and oily. High appetite and good sleeping patterns.

Diet patterns and Self Healing Therapy: Consuming fresh foods, such as fruits that are raw and sweet, including berries, cherries, plums, green vegetables, bitter or sweet vegetables (such as asparagus, broccoli, peas, celery, and cucumber), fresh grains, wheat, white rice, rice cakes, bread, pasta, white meat, dairy products, egg whites, maple syrup, sugar, spices (such as coriander, cumin, nutmeg, and mint). Reduce sour fruits, onions, large yellow onions, garlic, spicy spices, tomato, eggplant, sugar beet, egg yolk, red meat, nuts, chocolate, coffee, tea and red wine.

Key to Successful Diet: Do not miss for having a meal three times a day or with a regular period, with complete nutrition that consist of carbohydrates, proteins, fats and vitamins.

Lifestyle tips: Pitta tends to be warm and energetic. Frequently conducted activities that can make you feel good. Maintain the composure by soaking in warm water or swimming. Avoid exposure to the sun for too long.
